Xabi Alonso to give Leverkusen answer by May 17 on whether he will continue with Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen have given Xabi Alonso a deadline of May 17 to decide whether to continue with Leverkusen team next season.

Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro เว็บพนันออนไลน์ UFABET สมัครง่าย โปรโมชั่นมากมาย has confirmed Alonso is committed to the club until the summer of 2026. But has a clause in his contract that allows him to move to any of his four previous clubs: Real Sociedad, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Leverkusen have given the 43-year-old a deadline to give his answer after the final game of the season against Mainz on May 17.

Alonso has been link with a move to Real Madrid, who are looking for a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti. With Los Blancos reportedly already making an approach through the 43-year-old’s representatives. And Leverkusen will not stand in the way of Alonso moving to the Santiago Bernabeu, provided Los Blancos pay €12m in compensation.

Real Madrid will end their La Liga season on May 24 or 25 and will have around three and a half weeks to prepare for the Club World Cup in the United States. It is not yet clear whether Alonso is willing to take the job before the tournament in the US, or whether Ancelotti will stay on or whether Los Blancos will choose an interim manager in that time.
